A total of 1,965 candidates for baptism in the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City, Philippines, finally reached their much awaited day of baptism on January 14, 2023 that was conducted at the compound of the Local Congregation of San Francisco.

Anticipating such a huge number, “We had some rehearsals before this occasion. With God’s help, and as more ministers and Church officers were up to the task to assist, we’re able to complete the task in no time,” said Brother Danilo Gala Jr., assistant district supervising minister.

Prior to receiving the holy baptism, the candidates for baptism listened to the preaching of God’s words by Brother Virgilio Del Rosario Sr., district supervising minister, in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Francisco. He reminded them “to remain strong in their faith as members of the Church until the end—obeying all of God’s commands while striving to live in holiness to inherit eternal life on Judgment Day.”

“I am happy for having received my baptism inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ). I now belong to God’s nation in these last days, hopeful of the promised salvation,” said Ligaya Corsino from the Local Congregation of Zabarte, who is formerly a devout Catholic.

“I thank God for allowing me to be a member of the Church Of Christ,” shared Maricris Medina from the Local Congregation of V. Luna. Though afflicted with loss of hearing, she has been thankful for also being among those newly baptized. The Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) of the Church Of Christ has been of great help to her in making known the words of God through Sign Language interpretation. She further expressed in Sign Language, “I am certain of receiving salvation on Christ’s return.” — With reports from INC News Section
