A total of 97 candidates for baptism from the Ecclesiastical District of San Carlos City, Pangasinan, in the Philippines, have become full-fledged members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) after being baptized on April 29, 2023. Their baptismal gathering was led by Brother Solidario Jove, assistant district supervising minister, at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bayambang.

During the study of God’s words, Brother Jove encouraged the candidates for baptism that they must hold on firmly to their God-given election inside the Church Of Christ. This they can prove by upholding not only their worship of God, among their other duties to Him, but also the complete renewal of life. That way, Brother Jove further said, they can be more certain of receiving the promised salvation come Judgment Day. Afterwards, the would-be brethren took their oath of membership and were baptized through immersion in water.

The couple, Teodorico and Marynessa Agsalud from the Local Congregation of Sta. Barbara, were among those who were baptized. “What encouraged us to continue joining the Church Of Christ is the unity it upholds. In everything that the Church do, we see how the brethren manifest such unity and the love of brotherhood,” said Teodorico.

“We’re extending our heartfelt gratitude to the Lord God for allowing us to reach our baptism today. We can say that we are now officially members of the Church Of Christ. And we promise that we will take care of our election and remain strong in our faith no matter what happens,” he added. — With reports from Samantha Claire Butuyan of INC News Section
