The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Agusan del Sur were very grateful to God for the addition of new members to their district through simultaneous baptisms held on October 29, 2021.
On the said date, at 9:00 in the morning, two simultaneous baptisms were held: one in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bayugan City officiated by the district supervising minister, Brother Antonio Maque; the other in the house of worship of the Trento Congregation, led by the assistant district supervising minister, Brother Hernanie Agias.
Five hours later, at 2:00 in the afternoon, another baptism was held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Francisco officiated by Brother Antonio Maque.
During the study of God’s words, the candidates for baptism were taught about holding on firmly to the teachings of God, most especially in these times of uncertainties for them to remain inside the Church and be saved when Judgment Day comes.
Among the newly baptized brethren were Julieto Engag Sr. and his household. He is the chieftain of Brgy. Tagabase in Esperanza, where he is known as Datu Likaykugon. “When I was introduced into the Church Of Christ, I have observed that they are teaching the true knowledge about Christ and the true God,” he said.
Brother Narciso Sanchez, resident minister of the Bayugan City Congregation, attested how the brethren under his care were united in helping in the work of propagation. “The brethren here are truly enthusiastic in participating in all the activities launched by the Church Administration, most especially in the intensive propagation of God’s words,” he said.
“Since sharing our faith is a commandment of God, the brethren in the district are always united with the Church Administration in this holy endeavor because they want to be part of the victories in the district that glorifies our Almighty God,” said Brother Lucito Manto, a minister of the gospel and the district secretary.
Situated in northeastern Mindanao, Philippines, the district of Agusan del Sur is composed of 53 local congregations, 12 extensions, and nine group worship services (GWS). — With reports from INC News Section
