“We’re truly delighted to be the champion. We thank God for making the Church Administration instrumental in further inspiring us through Church activities like this,” said Lance Tante, choir member, on behalf of the Alang-alang choral group. They won the choral competition hosted by the Ecclesiastical District of Leyte East, in the Philippines. The activity was held at the Leyte Academic Center Convention Complex on December 25, 2023.
The contestants were evaluated based on musicality (45%), chorale tone (40%), and overall appeal (15%). The judges were Annielyn De Erio from Mahaplag Congregation, who is a music teacher at Mahaplag National High School, Cornelio Zabala from San Jose Congregation, art education teacher at Leyte Normal University in Tacloban City and Brother Azenel Legaspi, a minister of the gospel assigned at Tanauan Congregation.
“This activity has strengthened me in the faith and has inspired me to keep uniting in all the activities launched by the Church Administration,” expressed Shinna Joy Lagunzad, a choir member from the Local Congregation of Dulag.
“We firmly believe that activities like this bring glory to the Lord God while it strengthens us in the faith, which is why we will intensify our involvement with other endeavors of the Church,” said Brother Albert Tolentino, assistant district supervising minister. — With reports from Federica Libunao of INC News Section
