With the continuous pandemic crisis comes the continuous help the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members extend for their fellowmen, even those who live in far-flung places.
On April 3, 2021, brethren from the Local Congregation of Balza, Ecclesiastical District of Paniqui, Tarlac gave aid to the residents of Barangay Sta. Lucia West, a remote village under the jurisdiction of their congregation. They followed health and safety protocols throughout the event.
Brother Enrique Cunanan, congregation’s head deacon, often goes to the said place. As he acquaints with the locals there, he also shares his faith. He said, “Their working at the farm gives me plenty of opportunities to invite them to hear the teachings of God as taught in the Bible.” Seeing their living condition, Brother Enrique led his fellow brethren in giving aid there.
The recipients expressed their appreciation. Robert Reyes, said, “Thank you to the Iglesia Ni Cristo for giving us aid, especially now that we’re in a pandemic crisis.”
Alexis Mata, Children’s Worship Service congregation president, said, “Seeing our fellowmen’s smiles while we were handing out the goodwill bags is priceless. This giving of aid is truly a fulfilling thing to do.”
The resident minister, Brother Billy Joe Tamayo, who supervised the activity, said, “We thank the Executive Minister for always motivating us to show our love and concern for our brethren and fellowmen.” — With reports from INC News Section
