A do-it-yourself coin bank activity held for the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) members from the Local Congregation of Bambang, Ecclesiastical District of Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines brought out the kids’ creativity while at the same time instilling in them the importance of saving. The activity was held at the compound of Agapan’s Residence in Brgy. Banggot, Bambang on March 13, 2022.

The children were instructed to bring recyclable materials as base material for their coin banks. Lea April Sambrano, local CWS chairperson, said, “Some of the materials used were water bottles and card boxes. With the use of art materials, we, CWS officers, taught the children how to cover the recyclable materials and craft them on the design that they like.”

CWS officers assisted the children in making and designing the children’s coin banks. While at it, they spoke to the children about the value of thriftiness.

Gabriel Perez, a CWS teacher, said that the activity not only was fun for the kids but it also taught them about saving money. “When they learn to save,” he said, “they will have something to use for their needs.”

“I was able to finish making my coin bank. I am happy and will use it to save money,” said Jan Philip Necosia, a CWS member.

“I’m happy to see the children actively participating in this activity launched by the Church Administration, especially now that the restrictions have eased. We, in the local CWS leadership, promise to lead the children under our care in actively participating in Church activities,” Novel Gammad, local CWS assistant chairperson, expressed. — With reports from INC News Section
