Brethren from the Local Congregation of Bangkok, Ecclesiastical District of Thailand attended a seminar that aimed to increase awareness on mental health issues and thus help in potential anxiety caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Brother Azel Alcantara, resident minister, led the activity conducted on June 13, 2020 through videoconferencing.

Karen Sumalbag from the Local Congregation of Bangkapi, a registered nurse, and an International Nurse Coordinator for the Paolo Hospital in Phahonyothin, Bangkok, served as resource speaker. She expounded on the common causes and types of mental disorders, and the signs and symptoms. She recommended practical stress-relieving activities such as meditation, listening to music and sports-related activities.

On the spiritual side, Brother Azel gave an inspirational message based on the Bible on coping with stress and keeping the mind healthy.

The attendees said that they benefited from the seminar like the stress relievers’ practical usage and have a more positive outlook in life amid the pandemic. ― With reports from INC News Section
