The impact of Typhoon Rai (Philippine local name: Odette) was gravely felt in the eastern Visayan province of Leyte, Philippines yet did not deter the baptism scheduled on December 20, 2021 in the Leyte East Ecclesiastical District from pushing through.

With the help of God, the prospective members who had completed the prerequisites taught in the Bible, together with the brethren instrumental in their  joining the Church, safely arrived at the Local Congregation of Palo’s house of worship for their baptism.

The sacred gathering was officiated by the district supervising minister, Brother Eraño Fabella. During his preaching of the words of God before the baptism proper, he emphasized to the baptismal candidates the importance in their life of receiving the true baptism. Through it, he said based on the Bible, they would receive the forgiveness of sins, be counted among Christ’s true disciples and thus, have the hope to be saved on Judgment Day.

“I thank God for He helped me to become a member of the Church Of Christ,” Benedict Castromayor, one of the newly baptized brethren, expressed. “I also thank the brethren who guided me until the day of my baptism.” — With reports from INC News Section
