Baptisms were recently held in two countries under the jurisdiction of the Mediterranean Ecclesiastical District.

In Greece, on July 31, 2021, the would-be members, together with the brethren who walked them through their conversion, gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Athens, Greece for the last step in their joining the Church Of Christ.

The baptism held in Cyprus took place almost two weeks earlier, July 18, at the place of worship of the Nicosia, Cyprus Local Congregation.

In both occasions, Brother Ramil Regino, district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal service. Brothers Roeben Gopez and Danny Pregillana, ministers of the gospel, performed the baptismal rite.

As last preparation for the baptismal candidates, Brother Regino taught them a biblical teaching about the great importance of the Church Of Christ they were joining in attaining salvation on the Day of Judgment. He exhorted them to remain steadfast in their membership no matter what.

Among the newly baptized members in Nicosia, Cyprus were Maria Dalisay Pareña and Dolores Romero. In an interview, Maria expressed her sincere gratitude to the Lord God: “Being baptized in the true Church is such a great blessing. Although life is hard, I vow to remain in my membership and obey the will of God.”

Meanwhile, Dolores said, “The true faith enlightened to me since I joined the Church is what I will strive to share to my loved ones and friends. I will not waste my time letting them know how important it is to be a member of the Church Of Christ.”

On behalf of the brethren in this part of the world, Brother Regino said, “Praises be to God for the triumphs He bestowed unto the recently held baptisms in our district. We promise to continue our spiritual fervor in sharing our faith with our friends and loved ones who are not yet members of the Church Of Christ so they, too, will receive the promised salvation.”

All safety protocols implemented in both countries were fully abide throughout the said gatherings. — With reports from INC News Section
