“It is a great blessing from God, that in the first week of this year we finally received what we’ve been praying to Him,” said Brother Ronaldo Galanta about the establishment of the newest group worship service in the Ecclesiastical District of Agusan del Sur.

The said minister of the gospel had led the brethren residing in Brgy. 5, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, Philippines in requesting permission from the Church Administration that they conduct a worship service in their place.

With the approval of the Executive Minister, the Barangay 5 GWS held its inaugural worship service on January 6, 2022.

Brother Antonio M. Maque, district supervising minister, officiated. From the Bible, he reminded the brethren how God’s true servants could expect His safekeeping and blessings as they continue serving and worshiping Him amid life’s uncertainties.

The Barangay 5 GWS’ own place of worship was constructed for them by the Church in a lot voluntarily donated by Brother Rey Lumantas and his wife, Sister Marijoy. He is a head deacon, and she is finance officer, both from the Local Congregation of San Francisco, the mother congregation.

In an interview, the Lumantas said that they were glad to be of help to the growing number of brethren in Brgy. 5 in the municipality of San Francisco to have their own place of worship. The barangay is seven kilometers of rough roads away from the house of worship in San Francisco.

“We thank the Executive Minister for being instrumental, that out of love and concern he approved that we be able to hold worship services here at Brgy. 5,” Brother Ronaldo said on behalf of the congregation. He also voiced their conviction: “Be it life is hard, but it is in the place of worship where we firmly believe that God will all the more listen to our prayers, making us solid in the faith as we also uphold the worship services.”

Barangay 5 GWS is the tenth GWS the Ecclesiastical District of Agusan del Sur has established, in addition to its 53 local congregations, and 12 extensions. — With reports from INC News Section
