More than 60 kilometers separate Goteborg and Boras in Sweden and so the   leadership in congregations established in both cities endeavored to hold a joint fitness activity not only to foster health consciousness but, most importantly, keep the members’ bond of brotherhood strong, especially in these times. On October 16, 2021, the online activity brought together the Binhi members from both congregations, which are under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Europe.

“The reason that motivated us in the Binhi leadership to facilitate this is for brethren to get a chance to be part of the organization’s activities and also be strengthened in their faith,” said Eric Hellstrӧm, Binhi president of the Boras congregation.

Ashton Caraan, Binhi president from Goteborg, led the participants in their congregation in performing several exercise routines. He shared with his fellow Binhi members the proper way of executing the movements in the exercises they did to avoid injury and get the most benefit from them. He said, “This activity not only strengthened the body, physically and mentally, but also spiritually because the bond among us became stronger.”

“I felt energized and blessed after participating in the physical fitness activity,” said Tammy Brillantes, one of the participants. “I believe that it is very important to stay active physically to improve our health and reduce the risks of developing diseases.”

“We thank the Church Administration for giving us the opportunity to conduct such activity,” said Caraan. “We promise to continue being steadfast in the faith and launch more activities for our brethren.” ― With reports from INC News Section
