To emphasize the value of self-discipline in young people, a seminar was held for the members of the Binhi organization in the Ecclesiastical District of Cavite, Philippines. The activity was held via videoconferencing on September 4, 2021.

“The activity is intended for Binhi members,” said Brother Carlo Amadeus Verceles, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, “so that, at their young age, will be role models to their peers in upholding Christian values that are taught in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).”

Clarence Kyle dela Cruz, from the Local Congregation of San Nicolas, who also is the Binhi district President, served as the resource speaker. “It is true that there are lots of trials and obstacles,” he said, “… [but] if we learn how to discipline ourselves, can we make our dreams become reality and achieve our goals.”

During the webinar, the speaker shared with the attendees tips on developing self-discipline, which include finding one’s purpose, planning and being committed, being consistent, being focused, never playing the victim, ignoring naysayers, and finding company with wise people, among others.

The attendees were also reminded to become responsible, resist temptations, do daily planning, practice time management, have discipline in diet and exercise, among others.

Although Cavite is under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), Binhi members from all local congregations in the district were able to participate in the activity as it was facilitated online. ― With reports from INC News Section
