Expressing goodwill, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Ilocos Sur actively took part in the blood donation activity on January 14, 2023. Conducted at the Sta. Cruz Sports Complex in Poblacion, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, it was carried out in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)–Ilocos Sur Chapter and the Southern Ilocos Sur Medical Society (SISMS).

“The brethren willingly volunteered to donate blood upon considering the help it can contribute to our fellowmen,” attested Brother Manuel N. Santos, district supervising minister.

Among the donors, Judy Ann Gorospe Santos from Pagangpang Congregation, who traveled almost 30 kilometers to the venue, enthused, “Whenever the Church Administration calls for volunteers, I’ll always gladly participate because it’s my way of responding to God’s command of being kind to others, which is all the more proven by helping those in need.”

On behalf of the SISMS, Dr. Ma. Eileen Opeña Pascua, president, expressed, “We thank the Iglesia Ni Cristo for conducting this kind of service for the benefit of our community. This blood donation is indeed vital as many people are in need of blood transfusions, among other blood services, especially our patients who are in emergency situations.”

On a similar note, Veronica Tactay, PRC chapter administrator, voiced out, “The donors’ kindness was outstanding. They never fail us every time we collaborate with the Church Of Christ in such missions. So, thank you to those who came out to be of help.” — With reports from INC News Section
