Motivated by their desire to fulfill God’s command of loving their fellowmen, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental in the Philippines united for a blood donation activity on September 4, 2022. The event hall of Lopue’s East Centre in Araneta St., Bacolod City, served as the venue for the humanitarian event which was facilitated by the members of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) in the district.

Volunteer donors from various local congregations in the district underwent pre-donation screening procedures such as blood typing, physical, and health-history assessments.

“More than the [health] benefits that we, donors, gain in donating blood, it is an honor to participate in such activity as it shows love to other people, which is a teaching of the Bible,” enthused Judy Dela Rosa, a blood donor from the Talisay City Congregation.

Venus Nuarbe, district CMDPS president, from the Local Congregation of Mansilingan, explained, “If a person donates blood, his red blood cells are replaced making his blood healthier and contributes to the body functioning better.”

“We are thankful because, through the socio-civic activities approved by our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, we get an opportunity not only to be united but to be of help to our fellowmen as well,” expressed Brother Stanley Rivera, assistant district supervising minister. — With reports from INC News Section
