Brethren from various local congregations and Group Worship Services (GWS) in the Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand ended 2020 through INC Unity Games, as New Zealand is now only under Covid-19 alert level one, with no restrictions on gatherings.
The Christian Family Organizations (CFO) district officers conducted a district-wide Unity Games New Normal Edition on December 27-28, 2020 at Trust Waikato Te Awamutu Events Centre and Graham Condon Recreation and Sport Centre, Papanui, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Brother Dennis Dahunan, district supervising minister, led the activity with the aid of ministers, ministerial workers, and the CFO district officers. The program started with a warm-up exercise and with an opening game of tug-of-war. Brother Edgar Hernandez, district CFO overseer, led the brethren in an oath-taking of sportsmanship afterwards.
Cheering competition was one of the highlights of the activity. Brethren showed their artistic talents and skills with energetic moves and stunts which made the activity more exciting. Team ball games like volleyball, basketball, and badminton were also included. Even board games were played such as chess, scrabble, checkers, darts, and many more.
The Children’s Worship Service (CWS) also conducted their Unity Games. They did fun games and basic swimming training and competition.
Teamwork, camaraderie, unity, and sportsmanship were evident in the activity. The brethren were thankful to the Church Administration for allowing such activity for them to celebrate the year-end with the brethren and their family. Through such activity, the brethren were strengthened in the faith. They promised to be all the more active in their services to the Lord God. ― With reports from INC News Section
