On January 7, 2022, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon traveled to Cagbalete, an island in Lamon Bay, off the coast of the town of Mauban, Quezon, Philippines to hold an outreach-evangelical mission there.

Led by Brother Wilfredo De Luna, district supervising minister, the delegation traveled from Lucena City. Cagbalete is accessible by motorized banca from Mauban port, two hours away from Lucena. The brethren rented five boats, bringing with them hundreds of relief packages.

“In obedience to God’s command that we be of help to our fellowmen in need, the Iglesia Ni Cristo, led by Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, Executive Minister, holds Aid to Humanity events like this,” Brother De Luna said. He added that they chose to reach out this time to the residents of the island as “they are also in dire need, being also adversely affected by the pandemic.”

Seeing an opportunity to also share the true faith, the brethren invited the residents to an evangelical mission. Brother Wilfredo taught a Bible-based lesson about the importance of upholding God’s commandments, one of which is being found in the true religion. With God’s help, many more decided to become doctrinal instructees. As of this writing, more than 100 residents are undergoing Bible studies.

The Ecclesiastical District of Quezon supervises 70 local congregations, nine extensions, and three Group Worship Services (GWS); its office is situated along Granja Street, Lucena City. — With reports from INC News Section
