The choral group from the cluster of local congregations in the Taipei area emerged champion in the choral competition “Songs of Salvation-Buklod Edition” held by the Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan.

On August 7, 2022, brethren all over the district, including the judges, watched in the comforts of their homes the video streaming of each choral group’s pre-recorded performance.

The Taipei cluster choral group’s winning piece was “Ikaw na Aking Hinawakan Mula sa mga Wakas ng Lupa (Fil., You Whom I Have Taken from the Ends of the Earth).” The representatives from the Taoyuan cluster performed “Magpapasakop sa Namamahala sa Iglesia (We Will Obey the Executive Minister of the Church)”; that of the Hsinchu cluster sang “Buklod (Bond)”; and the Taichung cluster “Pagkat Sinumpaan Ko sa Diyos (Because I Vowed So Before God).”

“The songs that were featured in this activity remind us of the qualities husbands and wives should have: being loving and respectful of each other, striving to be role models to our children in our daily lives and in serving God, and of always united with the Church Administration,” said Ceasar Alexis Arnoco, from the Local Congregation of Baoshan, and a performer in the Hsinchu choral group.

Buklod, the organization of married Church members, was established in December 1962. This year marks its 60th anniversary of establishment. — With reports from INC News Section
