Buklod couples from the Local Congregation of Paticui, Ecclesiastical District of Kabankalan City, in Negros Occidental, faced off for their local congregation’s Mr. & Mrs. Chef on May 29, 2022.
“The activity aims not only to showcase the cooking skills of the brethren but also to strengthen the bond of the couples in the Church,” said Brother Elino Cañaberal Jr., the ministerial worker who spearheaded the activity, with the aid of the CFO congregation officers. “We are thankful to have this activity launched by the Church Administration.”
The contestants prepared dishes that included buttered shrimp, roasted chicken, and fish stew with coconut milk, among others. Buklod officers Melania Failangca, Elma Piella, and Francislyn Nicloe Plaza, served as judges in the event.
“We are happy to be part of this Church activity. We were able to showcase our passion for cooking,” said Jose Maria Pahigdana, who, together with her husband, joined the cooking tilt.
