“The roof of our house of worship here in the Local Congregation of Buraburan was damaged,” Brother Danilo Barbacina, resident ministerial worker, recalled the devastation wrought by the supertyphoon Rolly (international code name: Goni), which struck the Bicol region in early November 2020. “Other structures in the compound, such as the parsonage and the caretaker’s house, were also damaged.”

He expressed gratitude to the Lord for when the Church Administration-approved repair and renovation of the house of worship pushed through in March 2021 and continued until it was finished towards the end of August.

On September 6, 2021, the brethren from the local congregation held the dedication worship service for their newly renovated house of worship.

They were led by Brother Noel Balolong, supervising minister of Iriga City, Camarines Sur Ecclesiastical District, who, during his Bible-based sermon, reminded them about the importance of faithfully obeying the Lord God’s commands, one of which is the building and upkeep of His house where His servants gather to worship Him and receive His spiritual graces.

“The brethren here are overjoyed over the renovated house of worship. Although the seating capacity remained at 200 worshipers at any given time, the damage sustained during the supertyphoon are no more. Repainting was also done and the changes in the lighting system to the general beauty of the house of worship,” Brother Barbacina, added.

Brother Nacel Gonzales, assistant district supervising minister, who was also present during the dedication enthused: “Our district wholeheartedly thank [our Lord God] because we are blessed with a beautiful house of worship.”

The house of worship is located in San Vicente, Buhi, Camarines Sur, Philippines. — With reports from INC News Section
