To help the brethren understand how they can avail themselves of government services, such as scholarships, health and financial assistance, and the like, an “Aid and Government Services” webinar was hosted by the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental in the Philippines on September 12, 2021.

Danica Tacbas, a powerplant engineer and district KADIWA officer from the Local Congregation of Carmen, served as the keynote speaker. Her discussion was livestreamed for the benefit of as many brethren as possible. As CDO then was under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), brethren in local congregations within the city joined the seminar from their homes. Meanwhile, brethren in localities outside of CDO, where gatherings were allowed, attended the seminar at their house of worship.

During the seminar, the speaker detailed the various services the national government offers, such as scholarships for the youth and job opportunities, which they could be able to avail themselves of. “We encourage our brethren to avail of the government financial assistance, which is very helpful, if ever someone in the family contracts an illness.”

Having attended the activity and also heard feedback from fellow KADIWA members, Staline Dap-og, the district president, said, “This has a great significance to me as a citizen. I was informed of the ways on how government agencies’ assistance could reach me, mostly when I am in need.”

In an interview, Brother Earl Gem Lacson, the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) district officer, said, “The attendees were reminded that more than the aid and welfare services that the government provides, true Christians ought to strive all the more to receive the help and protection of God, for being Almighty, He is the One Who can truly care for us.” — With reports from INC News Section
