On January 17, 2022, Monday, the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan South conducted its first baptism of the year, a testimony to the continuing success of the  intensified propagation work in this part of the Philippines.

The momentous occasion was held at the newly built house of worship of the Local Congregation of Tuguegarao City, which was dedicated to God by  Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, through videoconferencing on December 18, 2021.

The district supervising minister, Brother Elmer Abalos, officiated the baptismal service. In the Bible-based lesson prepared for the sacred occasion, he taught the baptismal candidates the important traits they need to possess to be certain of the promised salvation, one of which is being faithful to God.

Pondering on the lesson taught to them, Elvis Fronda, one of the newly baptized members, promised to share the true faith: “I am happy to be part of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. I am ready to convince other people to be part of this Church [just like] what I did,” he said.

“Despite the pandemic, the district was able to hold baptism while observing health and safety protocols,” said Brother Manuel dela Cruz, district secretary. “We thank God that we were able to uphold this endeavor because through this, more people receive the right not only to properly serve God but, most of all, to be saved on Judgment Day.”

“To the best of our ability, we will strive to encourage all the brethren in participating in the work of propagation and continue to guide those in the process of joining the Church until they receive their baptism,” enthused Brother Daniel Agabao, district Light of Salvation (LOS) overseer.

Found in the northeastern corner of Luzon, Philippines, Cagayan Province was under Alert Level 2, a quarantine classification implemented by the government wherein gatherings are allowed. — With reports from INC News Section
