Church members from the Ecclesiastical District of Caloocan North celebrated the 109th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s establishment in the Philippines with a roster of activities leading to the Church-wide Thanksgiving Worship in the third week of July.

Among these was the finance officers’ special gathering and oath taking of hundreds of new holders of this office on July 10, 2023.

District supervising minister, Brother Ariel Barzaga, officiated at the holy occasion in the Local Congregation of Deparo, which served as the host site. In his Bible-based sermon, which was streamed live to the houses of worship in Bagong Silang 9 and Camarin, he reminded the Church officers to stay focused on what is required by their sworn duty even as they also actively participate in all other works in the Church such as helping out in the propagation of the pure gospel.

“As expected from all Church officers, those in the finance department have delicate tasks that require dedication,” affirmed Brother Andy Cortez, minister of the gospel and the district treasurer. “It is only through the help of the Almighty God that they are able to perform. Also, busy as they may, it is their trait to always prioritize their duties in the Church.”

Prior to this special gathering, on June 25, new officers in the Church, 1,149 in total, in the different departments of congregations took their oath of duty. On June 24, a Fun Run and Fun Cycling event was held under the auspices of the Christian Family Organizations in the district.

“These activities that were launched by the Church Administration were meant for our edification. For this, the brethren in our district promise to be always one with the Church in all its works,” said Brother Albert Gatus, minister of the gospel and the CFO district overseer. — With reports from Namilhyn Kumatsu of INC News Section
