“We thank our Almighty God because through the instrumentality of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, our Executive Minister, our congregation has been blessed with a new house of worship,” enthused Randy Balacano, head deacon of the Local Congregation of Calumangan, Ecclesiastical District of Valladolid, Negros Occidental.
Some weeks ahead of the scheduled Thanksgiving worship services of the entire Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) for its 108th anniversary, Balacano and his brethren from Calumangan expressed their gratefulness to God as they gathered for worship for the first time in their new chapel during its dedication to Him on July 15, 2022.
Brother Dennis Almasco, district supervising minister, officiated at the special occasion. In his homily based on the Scriptures, he expounded on how God’s people serve Him with integrity and that doing so will mean abundant blessings from Him.
“The new house of worship replaces the 90-seater edifice which was constructed and consecrated to God back in 1993. As the years went by, the congregation grew eventually prompting us to write a request to the Church Administration asking for a bigger and more beautiful house of worship,” Brother Mark Gutierrez, the resident ministerial worker, said.
“Together with the house of worship, a separate single-storey building was constructed to house the offices of various Church departments,” he added.
Installed with a state-of-the-art sound system, the 120-seater sacred edifice comes equipped with a Johannus organ, and a LED TV videoconferencing system. It is situated along Km. 15, Barangay Calumangan, Bago City, Negros Occidental, which is about 18 kilometers from the district office located at Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid. — With reports from INC News Section
