Church Of Christ members from the Local Congregation of Balamban, Ecclesiastical District of Carcar City, Cebu in the Philippines came to the rescue of their townmates who were affected by a flood caused by days of raining.
They conducted the Lingap sa Mamamayan (Aid to Humanity) at the barangay hall of Barangay Nangka, Balamban on December 2, 2020 to help them with their immediate needs.
“Five consecutive days of raining resulted to the sudden rise of floodwater coming from the mountains to the town proper,” Brother Marco Soliman, resident ministerial worker, attested.
The district supervising minister, Brother Sergio Vista, together with fellow ministers and ministerial workers, spearheaded the giving of relief packages, seeing to it that health safety measures were observed.
Meanwhile, two days later, on December 4, brethren from the Local Congregation of Sibonga united to conduct a clean-up drive in their community.
This was part of the commemoration of their congregation’s 81st anniversary.
The resident minister, Brother Armando Ochia, led them in this socio-civic activity, in which, he said, they not only helped maintain the cleanliness of their community but also fostered camaraderie and cooperation among the brethren. — With reports from INC News Section
