The Christian Brotherhood International (CBI) officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental spearheaded an outreach activity dubbed as “CBI Cares” on December 4, 2020. CBI members gave free face masks and face shields to public utility vehicle drivers at Capistrano St., Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.
Paulene Acera, CBI district president, said, “The activity aims to encourage our fellow students to become active in the Church while participating in activities like this that help other people.”
With the help of other Christian Family Organizations (CFO), the CBI officers were able to gather face masks and face shields for the activity. Though young at age and most have yet to earn a living, the students were not hindered to show their care for other people, not only for their safety from the pandemic, but most of all, to share the true faith. Included with the face masks and face shields that CBI members handed out are the Church’s religious pamphlets.
Charlotte Conejos, CBI member, stated, “It is important that we care for other people especially for the sake of their spiritual needs. That is why we also give pamphlets to PUV drivers to share our faith.”
Abner Carl Candare, CBI Adviser, said, “We advised our CBI members to always participate in all Church activities and follow God’s command taught by the Church Administration to become steadfast in the faith.” ― With reports from INC News Section
