In the Local Congregation of Guihulngan, Ecclesiastical District of Negros del Norte in the Philippines, Christian Employees Association (CEA) members commemorating the 35th anniversary of their organization, as well as other Church officers attended a special gathering at the congregation’s house of worship on November 16, 2021.
In his homily, Brother Troy Calimpong, the district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, reminded the members of the CEA to strive at being the best—be they employers or employees—as it is expected from them by God. He also took the opportunity to call on the Church officers in attendance to all the more devote themselves to being effective helpers of the Church Administration in caring for the Church members.
“It is a blessing to have this special gathering because this strengthens our faith. We are reminded not only of how to fulfill our Church duties but also the way God expects us to go about our chosen profession. We were also reminded to be strong in facing many trials,” Babylin Alicio, a choir member in the local congregation who works as a pharmacist, said. “We hold on to the words and commandments of our Lord God, that is why we look forward to these gatherings.”
CEA is the organization for members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) who are either employers or employees. Supervised by the CFO Office, it conducts various activities that encourage Church members to uphold Christian work ethics. — With reports from INC News Section
