Preparing the members for any eventuality especially during an earthquake, Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Central led their fellow brethren in an earthquake disaster preparedness seminar on March 28, 2021.
Not only to avoid panic but also to be of help to others, the Church members learned necessary steps on what to do during and after an actual earthquake. They were also provided information about the contents of an emergency kit that they should prepare.
Gel Serenatas, KADIWA area leader from the Local Congregation of Templo Central, said, “It is so important to have sufficient knowledge about disasters. This is also helpful in our services to God as we could relay it to our fellow Church members entrusted under our care and to our respective families.”
Also from the same congregation, Henry Filnar Panulaya, Children’s Worship Service teacher, said, “If, for example, an earthquake struck while we’re in a hospital, where protocols are implemented due to Covid-19 pandemic, it is a must for us to know what to do, to avoid what we call ‘panic’.” — With reports from INC News Section
