Grateful to God for their district’s 30th anniversary, choir members from the Ecclesiastical District of Australia East attended a special gathering on April 21, 2024, during which they also reaffirmed their zeal of upholding duties in the Church.

Two houses of worship in the district were designated as sites of the special gathering: that of the Local Congregations of Brisbane, Queensland and Minchinbury, New South Wales. The latter served as the host site from where the rest of the sites connected via videoconferencing.

Choir members from the Local Congregations of Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, and North Brisbane congregated at Brisbane; those from Bankstown, Blacktown City, Campbelltown, Croydon Park, Dean Park, Kellyville, Liverpool, North Sydney, Penrith, St. George, and Sydney at Minchinbury.

Other remote sites for the occasion were that of Cairns, Canberra, Gladstone, Townsville, and Vanuatu, thus all choir members of the district, regardless how remote the place where they live, were ensured of being able to partake in this commemorative event.

Brother Seth Gutierrez, district supervising minister, officiated at the sacred gathering. He exhorted the choir members through a biblical lesson that they must cherish their duty of leading their respective local congregation in singing hymns of praises to God as well as their other duties in the Church.

“The choir members in our district really need this occasion,” said Riza De Borja, choir directress from the Local Congregation of Bankstown, New South Wales, “during which we received timely reminders on how to better perform our duties, especially for the youth who encounter many challenges. On my part, I will always fight for my faith and love my Church duties.” — With reports from Lorrie Kate Salomon of INC News Section
