Choir members, adult and those of the Children’s Worship Service (CWS), from all local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Calgary, traveled all the way to the place of worship of the Local Congregation of Airdrie on April 2, 2023. This they did to attend the special gathering that was officiated by Brother Voltaire Tamisin, district supervising minister.

In his homily, Brother Tamisin reminded the choir members that theirs is a God-given duty. It is only right then, he said, that they fulfill it cheerfully and the best they can. They must also help out in the works of propagation, lest they fall short of what God expects.

“That we don’t always have occasions like this made this gathering not only special but truly inspiring for us, choir members,” said Gerlie Dayawon, district choir director. “And I believe that this feeling is mutual for all in attendance, since we are but willing to travel miles and miles just to get here, and be able to sing together before God.”

At the conclusion of the holy occasion, Cecilia Maranao, of the Riverbend Congregation, received a certificate of appreciation for her 61 years of being in the choir. “I’ve been a choir member since I was in the CWS. Every time I perform my duty, I feel God strengthening my faith,” she conveyed. With much conviction, she added, “Even though there are many trials in life, including this pandemic, I will not stop performing in the choir until I breathe my last.” — With reports from INC News Section
