Choir members from the Ecclesiastical District of Ottawa, Canada took the lead in organizing a “Welcome, My Brethren” activity on January 30, 2022 for the newly baptized brethren in the district. The online activity was hosted by Laura Ibañez and Kaye Canlas.

The organizing committee prepared several musical numbers featuring original Iglesia Ni Cristo music performed by choir members. They also included in the program several fun games that proved engaging to the attendees, which also included some guests, doctrinal instructees, and candidates for baptism.

“We prepared Christian music videos that would speak to our guests telling them about [Christian] values, our faith, and teachings about the Messenger in these last days and the Church Administration. We shared to them the activities that we do—different events that happen in the Church, and the duties we fulfill,” Kaye said.

The activity provided an avenue for the brethren to strengthen the new members, as well as the prospective members, and share their faith to their fellowmen.

“With the help and mercy of God, many brethren participated in this activity across our district, from the region of Ontario to the Maritimes. The newly-baptized brethren, prospective members, and candidates for baptism were warmly welcomed. We saw the joy in the faces of the guests and some of them even participated in the interactive games,” said Brother Gibrl Legaspi, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. — With reports from INC News Section
