Brethren from the Local Congregation of Seoul, Ecclesiastical District of South Korea, many of them Church officers, benefited from the seminar entitled “Effective Communication Skills” they attended through videoconferencing on May 25, 2022.

Raiza Dalofin, an exchange student majoring in Korean Studies at the University of Manoa and who is also enlisted in the local congregation, served as the resource speaker. She discussed the elements of effective communication skills namely, verbal, non-verbal, written, and visual.

“In order to ensure the success of this seminar, I looked into a lot of research materials and how language experts approach effective communication. I then compiled the data and picked the research points that I felt Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in particular need,” Raiza explained. “After doing this event, it made me feel closer to the brethren. I hope that my fellow brethren will use the research that I gathered in their everyday lives and in improving their interpersonal relationship with people,” she added.

The seminar concluded with a brief inspirational message from the resident minister, Brother Dexter Bindol, who supervised the activity. He exhorted the attendees to properly use the knowledge they gained, especially in communicating messages and instructions from the Church Administration to the brethren.

A Church officer remarked that what he learned from the seminar was indeed useful to his duty in leading the brethren. “I needed this kind of seminar because I want to all the more be effective in leading the brethren entrusted to my care,” Gilbert Yabut, a group overseer, said. — With reports from INC News Section
