The Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) leadership from the Ecclesiastical District of Western Europe held a webinar on the proper care of the kidney on June 13, 2021.
Brethren from various local congregations in France, Switzerland, and Belgium participated in the activity through videoconferencing.
Marivic Nerit and Jhenalyn Noche, both from the Local Congregation of Val-d’Oise, and who formerly worked as nurses, were the guest speakers during the said activity.
Attendees learned about End-Stage Renal Disease or (ESRD) and the ways by which it can be avoided. ESRD or in common parlance, “kidney failure,” is treated only by hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or kidney transplant.
The brethren expressed their gratefulness to the Church Administration for the worthwhile and timely seminar to gain health knowledge and awareness in this time of pandemic.
“One should learn the value of the proper diet, like eating healthy foods, [fruits and vegetables], drink water every day, and regular exercise. Ten to 15 minutes [of exercise] a day is not that bad to give our body the need to gain energy, especially for those who work 8 hours a day. Either walking or jogging will make a difference at least,” said Jhenalyn. ― With reports from INC News Section
