Officers of the Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) and of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) from the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan North collaborated for a successful blood donation drive on July 1, 2022.

The socio-civic activity, which was held at the covered court of the San Miguel National High School, San Miguel Bulacan, Philippines, was conducted in coordination with the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

Rodney Nicdao, a SCAN officer from Pinambaran Congregation, said that the “purpose of activity … to be of help to our fellowmen who are in need [of blood]” is in line with the organization’s mission. “This does help in saving … lives,” he said.

As it was within the scope of their duties, the CMDPS members lent a helping hand in the screening of potential donors as well as in the blood extraction of those who qualified. SCAN officers also made sure that health and safety protocols were followed.

“Through this activity, we can help patients who need an immediate blood transfusion,” said Derna Zapater, a CMDPS officer from the San Miguel Congregation.

Besides the CMDPS and SCAN officers, brethren from various local congregations in the district took the opportunity to participate in the activity.

Led by Brother Rainier B. Sabino, district supervising minister, the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan North is composed of 30 local congregations, and 8 Extensions. — With reports from INC News Section
