To provide brethren with much needed knowledge on how to identify stressors and address them properly, officers of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) in the Ecclesiastical District of Thailand sponsored a mental health awareness seminar on November 14, 2021. The activity was held through videoconferencing and was attended by brethren from various local congregations in the district.

Dr. Ryan Coroña, a licensed psychologist and a CMDPS officer, served as the keynote speaker. During the activity, he shared with the brethren the common causes of stress, especially those amplified by the pandemic. Most importantly, he taught the different approaches used by mental health professionals how to cope with stresses.

Among the many attendees, Jonathan Novis, from the Local Congregation of Bangyai, expressed his thankfulness to the Church Administration for he “has gained knowledge, and become more aware of the illness that is the depression, learning what must be done in the face of it.”

Before the activity ended, Brother Junie Alarin, the district Christian Family Organizations overseer, gave a biblical reminder to the attendees highlighting the importance of trusting fully in God. He emphasized to them the importance of being prayerful, especially when faced with stressful situations. — With reports from INC News Section
