Many factors affect parent-child relationship nowadays. Aware of this, the leadership of the Ecclesiastical District of Iloilo South in the Philippines on February 5, 2023 convened a conference aimed at promoting stronger relation between Christian parents and their children amid such factors.

Held primarily at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Iloilo City, the conference was attended by parents and Children’s Worship Service officers. Attendees from other congregations gathered in their respective houses of worship connected to the host site through videoconferencing.

Aleiya Lureyn Diaz, licensed psychometrician from the Local Congregation of San Antonio, served as the keynote speaker. She discussed about child psychology and the proper parent-child communication.

“As a teacher, I’m often busy at work. Thus, the knowledge I gained will be of great help to me so that I’d still be able to fulfill my duties as a parent,” said Allen June Bueno, deaconess from the Local Congregation of Iloilo City.

Brother Noel Peregrino, district counselor, provided spiritual advice afterwards. “With this activity, the Church Administration hopes that the children will not only feel but also reciprocate the affection their parents have for them toward developing and nurturing such a positive relationship that is glorifying to God,” he said. — With reports from INC News Section
