Brethren from the local congregations in Milan Metropolitan Area, namely, Milan, Milan West, Milan South, and Monza, united in donating blood on July 30, 2022, as part of the sustained socio-civic activities of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) to help those in need.
The humanitarian endeavor benefited the Osedale San Rafaele (San Rafael Hospital) and was held at the hospital’s blood donation area located in Via Olgettina Milano 60, Milan, Italy.
It was conducted by the members and officers of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) in coordination with the Functional Unit of the hospital’s Blood Donation Center.
The head of the unit, Dr. Michela Tassara, said, “It’s a beautiful gesture. It’s a gesture of [value for] life, and [of] love … and we are so happy to accommodate you to do this gesture of donation. This is a wonderful thing and we hope to accommodate you with new donors, more young people to donate blood.”
“When we learned that there will be a blood donation activity to be held in Osedale San Rafaele, we, in the CMDPS, immediately coordinated with the hospital staff,” Evson Capuno, Italy North District CMDPS president, said. “Thanks be to God for the brethren happily heeded the announcement in order to help others.”
Among those who qualified to donate blood that day, Lily Saba, a secretariat officer from the Monza Congregation, said, “I’m happy in participating to this kind of activity which I can be of help to my fellowmen. I’m looking forward to unite in other activities to be launched by the Church Administration,” she expressed.
“We thank God for the success of this blood donation activity. Despite the busyness of the brethren, they extended their help and showed their unity to the Church Administration,” said Brother Randolf Villajuan, the district overseer of the Christian Family Organizations (CFO). — With reports from INC News Section and Kate Maximo
