Celebrating their congregation’s 72nd anniversary, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregation of Cotabato City, Ecclesiastical District of Maguindanao saw it a fitting occasion to all the more be of help to their fellowmen by conducting a blood donation activity at their house of worship’s compound on May 7, 2021.
Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers led the activity in collaboration with the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center. They checked the condition of the donors, from their body mass index (BMI) to their blood pressure, to make sure that they do not have any recurring and debilitating illnesses before allowing them to donate blood.
“It was through this humanitarian activity that I was able to listen for the first time to God’s teachings upheld by the Iglesia Ni Cristo,” said Brother Evaristo Tolentino, Church officer and currently a medical student, who helped in collecting blood. “I thank God now that I am baptized in the Church. I will continue to be in unity with our Church Administration.”
Resident minister, Brother Tony Raña, who supervised the activity said that “this is one of the activities we preferred to conduct, because it will truly be of great help to our fellowmen who are in need [of blood], eventually saving their lives.”
“It is so fulfilling to see our brethren, though we are in the midst of a pandemic, being one in spirit and mind with the Church Administration in giving glory to God,” he added. — With reports from INC News Section
