“Through this event, we remember the noble aim of God’s Messenger in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo, in establishing the Buklod organization. He wanted married couples in the Church to have a strong marital bond so every family will have peace in their household,” Brother Herminio Bunag, resident minister of Mississauga East Local Congregation, said.

He was referring to the Buklod Night organized by the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Ontario, Canada, which was held on November 13, 2022, at the Oakville Conference Centre in Wyecroft Road, Oakville, Ontario.

Before sharing a delectable dinner, the attendees joined in several fun games and watched a slideshow presentation of photos of Buklod members from various local congregations in the district. At the conclusion of the event, Brother Raul Adalla, district supervising minister, gave an inspirational, Bible-based closing remarks with biblical verses for husbands and wives, and fathers and mothers.

“It is exactly what we needed to hear to keep us all together,” Brother David Melville-Laborde, a Buklod member from Mississauga West Congregation, said. “I’m really happy to see so many new Buklod members. I’m really pleased to see them attending. This activity binds us together. The younger couples can learn from the older Buklod members on how to keep their family together.”

Jennifer Tavares, a new Buklod member from Brampton Congregation, shared that the event “reminds us, married couples, to be more faithful and responsible to each other, and most especially it reminds us of the teachings of our Lord God for married couples.” — With reports from INC News Section
