Members of the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) in the Ecclesiastical District of Central Europe, together with their parents, underwent basic first aid seminar held simultaneously by their respective local congregations on September 17, 2022.

The Central Europe District oversees local congregations in Germany, Switzerland, and Netherlands, six of which namely, Amsterdam, Netherlands; Bonn, Germany; Frankfurt City, Germany; Heidelberg, Germany; Rotterdam, Netherlands; and Zurich, Switzerland, served as host sites of the said seminar. Neighboring local congregations connected through videoconferencing.

In each of the venues, CWS officers, using a child-friendly video presentation, first taught the children about what a basic first aid kit is and what its contents are. Afterwards, they demonstrated to the kids the step-by-step process in treating a minor wound. Moreover, the CWS officers emphasized to the kids the importance of seeking assistance from their parents.

“To ensure that the children learn from the activity, interactive games and quizzes were facilitated afterwards. These were all designed to reinforce in their young minds the important steps to be remembered and taken in the event of a simple injury. At the end of the seminar, they were also given first aid kits,” Katherine Ramos, CWS president from the Amsterdam Congregation, said.

Markus Sison, a CWS member from the Zurich Congregation, enthused, “I’ve learned so many things from the seminar. With what we have been taught, I can help someone who is injured.” — With reports from INC News Section
