Wanting to be able to communicate with and, thus, care more for Deaf brethren, Children’s Worship Service (CWS) officers from the Local Congregation of Dancalan, Ecclesiastical District of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental had begun learning Sign Language.

For this, they attended the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) Basic Sign Language Tutorial held at their house of worship on January 16, 2021.

Iver Aguilar, CWS officer, said, “Being taught basic Sign Language (SL) is truly a great help to us, so that we could all the more take care of our Deaf brethren.”

The district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, Brother Marlon Cruz, served as the SL instructor. He taught the attendees the signs for alphabets, numbers, and greetings.

Seeing the eagerness of the CWS officers to improve their SL skills, Brother Marlon Cruz, said, “We will continue conducting seminars about basic Sign Language so the CFO officers in our district be equipped with the knowledge they will use in fulfilling their Church duties, especially in overseeing our Deaf brethren.” — With reports from INC News Section
