On January 10, 2022, the Ecclesiastical District of Davao City convened a special gathering of the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) members from all over this prime city in Mindanao, Philippines.

As approved by Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, the CSD, under the Christian Family Organizations (CFO), was established in 2013. It holds activities particularly for the deaf, creating a safe and welcoming environment for them, at the same time, promoting the love of brotherhood by promoting communication between them and the non-deaf Church members, and more importantly, bringing them closer to spiritual perfection.

Brother Rhoedman Lloyd Ybañez, the district CFO overseer officiated at the sacred occasion held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bajada. Brother Nyl Aaron Bacunawa, District CSD Adviser interpreted the homily into Sign Language.

“The purpose of holding this special gathering is to extend the love of the Church Administration to our brethren who are deaf, and to solidify their faith by means of imparting to them the words of God,” said Sister Roquella Sumampong, District CSD President.

Gatherings such as this aim not only to strengthen the faith of the deaf brethren but also make them feel the love of the brethren. — With reports from INC News Section
