On August 9, 2022, through an outreach activity sponsored by the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) from the Ecclesiastical District of Zamboanga Del Sur, Philippines, deaf individuals—Church members and nonmembers alike—in the municipalities of Lapuyan and Tukuran, received aid from the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

District CSD adviser, Brother Rogelio Jovenal Jr., led the outreach activity dubbed “CSD Cares.” Together with the CSD members and officers, they personally handed-over to the Deaf members food packages containing several kilos of rice and canned goods.

Grateful to the Church Administration for the visit and concern, she expressed, “Even though we are far, I appreciate the help that was given to us. Thank you so much, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo,” expressed Jessa Marie Mananghap from the Lapuyan Congregation.

“I’m not a member of the Church but I also received aid. Thank you very much,” said Bieben Saga, a resident of Tukuran, and one of the beneficiaries of the outreach activity.

“The Church Administration never forgets our fellowmen, even those who belong to the Deaf community, especially during these trying times,” said Brother Jovenal. — With reports from INC News Section
