The Covid-19 pandemic prompted countries in Europe to close their borders and implement lockdown and quarantine measures to curb its spread. Brethren from the Ecclesiastical District of Western Europe took the opportunity to bring to people in their own homes the true gospel.

One of those who participated in the online district evangelical mission on April 20 to 26, 2020 was Victoria Elenita Lopez, a choir member from Aalst, Belgium.

I have shared my faith with friends and acquaintances. Belgium is also in lockdown like elsewhere in the world. This means that we are not allowed to have visitors. But I am thankful that Our Almighty God has provided us the needed resources for us to still be able to share our faith through messages and social media],” she said.

Through new ways of communication, like livestreaming, the brethren were able to reach out to many people and share to them God’s words, not letting the current situation of the world hinder them.

“We should make use of this modern technology that we have,” said Jaime Hipolito, head deacon from Geneva North, Switzerland. “I’m sharing my faith with my fellowmen, friends, acquaintances, especially with loved ones through different social media platforms, such as Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and others.”

Asked about the importance of sharing the true faith at all times, Kimberly Van Acker, choir member from Aalst, Belgium, enthused, “Ik denk dat het delen van mijn geloof hen kan helpen om kennis te maken met het echte geloof en hier uit zelf ook kracht te putten en zekerheid te hebben. Zeker in deze tijd omdat er veel onzekerheid is en veel angst [Sharing my faith can help others know more about the true religion and to draw strength from it and to have certainty. Especially in this time that there is a lot of uncertainty and fear].” — With reports from INC News Section
