In the Ecclesiastical District of Calgary, the Local Congregation of Downtown, Alberta and the Invermere Group Worship Service (GWS) jointly held a “Budgeting and Time Management” online seminar on January 30, 2022 for the members of the KADIWA organization.

Guest speakers Gesster Ramos and Marco Maranao, Buklod members, shared how they could maximize the use of their time and money, striking a good balance between their daily activities and their God-given duties and responsibilities.

Maranao spoke about practical ways in managing time. He explained that duties towards the “Church, family, and work are very important. So, to efficiently manage my time I use a calendar application.” He also spoke about using another application, a note pad of sorts “to write down things I need to remember. This application is connected to the internet so my schedule is synchronized in all my devices.” He encouraged the attendees to use their computer, tablet, phone, or even their smart watch to “check and keep track of what needs to be done” as listed down in their schedules.

Meanwhile, Ramos shared in the basics of budgeting for personal and professional aspects. Ramos suggested to the KADIWA members to “divide or budget one’s income into categories like one for the assets or savings, one for the necessities, other for paying taxes, and some amount for fun and giving.” He taught them to categorize based on their needs and obligations.

Both speakers emphasized to the attendees the importance of conducting devotional prayers to ask God for His blessings and guidance, including in how they ought to spend their time as well as their resources. — With reports from INC News Section
