The Local Congregation of Dupax del Norte, Ecclesiastical District of Nueva Vizcaya in the Philippines was established 85 years ago on April 10, 1938 during the time of God’s Messenger in the last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo, when he administered the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

Thankful to the Almighty God, the brethren from the said congregation celebrated such a milestone anniversary with a special gathering at their house of worship on April 10, 2023 and a socializing activity days later, on April 23.

“For all the years that passed, God had always helped us especially from the outset of our local congregation, when persecutions and hardships were severe,” recalled Marcelino Bartolome, head deacon and one of the pioneer members. “It’s all thanks to the Father that I still remain in my holy calling.”

Brother Fermin P. Pacquiao, district supervising minister, officiated at the holy gathering. He taught from the Bible that Church members should keep progressing in their faith, which is proven by their firm trust, hope, and reliance to God’s promises to them.

“We’re able to continue serving God through the years only because God Himself consistently fulfills His promises to the Church Of Christ,” Brother Pacquiao emphasized.

“The pioneer members in our local congregation are still active in all of the Church works despite their old age. They are exemplary in the faith, worth imitating by the younger generations,” said Brother Christopher Candaroma, resident minister.

Still part of their anniversary commemoration, the brethren, together with respective families, gathered at an events place in Dupax del Norte for a socializing activity on April 23, 2023.

Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers of the congregation prepared song and dance performances and fun-filled activities to the delight of everyone in attendance.

“We hope to strengthen everyone’s faith,” said Kevin De Guzman, choir member, who was among the organizers.

“Our local congregation reached its 85th anniversary because of God’s help and mercy; a fitting reason to celebrate,” Bartolome enthused. — With reports from Michelle Ivy Umayam and Marienne Gayle Bartolome of INC News Section
