As the entire Church commemorated the 137th birth anniversary of Brother Felix Manalo (1886-1963) on May 10, 2023, brethren from the neighboring ecclesiastical districts of Quezon and Quezon North, in the Philippines, showed their gratitude to God’s sending of His messenger through the evangelical missions they held the day before the said red-letter date.

“The tenth of May for Church Of Christ members is a significant date. It’s the day of birth of Brother Felix Manalo. His calling is an integral part of the faith of Church members. It is through His preaching function that we were called into our election as God’s chosen people in these last days,” said Brother Alex Alimon, Quezon North district supervising minister. He officiated the evangelical mission at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Real.

Brother Alimon taught a biblical lesson about the importance of obedience to God’s commandments taught by His messengers. One of such precepts is that it is imperative to enter the true Church Of Christ to ensure one’s salvation. This was also the center point of the lessons preached in each of the district’s local congregations in their respective evangelical mission schedules.

Meanwhile, brethren in the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon brought their guests to the Quezon Convention Center, a 7,000-seater indoor court, which was filled to the brim by attendees, members and nonmembers alike. Brother Criselio De Lazo, district supervising minister, officiated at the gathering.

Brother De Lazo pointed from the Bible the indispensability of the Church Of Christ in attaining salvation on Judgment Day. He also emphasized the importance of holding fast to the biblical doctrines taught by the Messenger as upheld by the Church Administration.

“On behalf of our district, we thank the Lord God for the victory of this event. We will continue to uphold the work began by the Sugo as led by the current Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo,” said Brother John Norin Anunciacion, minister of the gospel and Light of Salvation overseer of Quezon.

Majority of the guests who attended the evangelical missions expressed further interest in knowing about the doctrines upheld by the Church Of Christ, others of them even enlisted as doctrinal instructees thereafter. — With reports from Denise Dejelo and Jessa Larita of INC News Section
