“We had fun and enjoyed the activity, especially my kids,” Jonel Soropia, a deacon from Laval, Quebec Group Worship Service, said regarding their GWS’ Family Fun Games held jointly with the Local Congregation of Saint Laurent, Quebec. “This helped strengthened our unity [and] camaraderie [as brethren in the] faith.”

The Soropias and the rest of the families from the said congregation and GWS, which were under the Ottawa Ecclesiastical District, participated in the said activity at the gymnasium of Vanier College in Montreal, Canada on April 22, 2023.

Buklod members, that is, the parents, and their KADIWA and Binhi children played basketball and volleyball. Three teams for each ball game competed in the games with two from the Saint Laurent Congregation and one from the Laval GWS. The Children’s Worship Service (CWS) members, meanwhile, delightedly raced with one another in obstacle courses.

“We are grateful to our Almighty God for allowing us to hold this activity through the approval of the Church Administration,” Brother Melvin Ibañez, resident minister, enthused. “Everyone is excited in participating in the games.”

The ball game winners received trophies, while the CWS members medals. Brother Ibañez led the awarding ceremony, assisted by Samuel Nisperos and Gilles St-Amand, head deacons.

On behalf of the brethren, Brother Ibañez said, “We promise to God and to the Church Administration that we will continue to unite in our Church endeavors, foster the love of brotherhood, and all the more strengthen the unity in the Church.” — With reports from Melissa Ibañez of INC News Section
