United not only in the true faith but also in enthusiasm for sports, brethren from the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Africa cheerfully kicked off their first ever INC Unity Games event with the game of football.

Teams from the different local congregations competed in the elimination rounds earlier this month.

The top two teams, King William’s Town and Petrusburg, faced off in the final match on August 10, 2019 which was held at the open field in front of the congregation’s chapel.

After the 90-minute game, a tied score ended in an exciting penalty kick shoot-out. Team Petrusburg stepped up to become the first Southern Africa Unity Games football champions.

The biggest victory, however, was that the players as well as the spectators and organizers fostered love of brotherhood among one another. They also united in expressing their thankfulness to the Lord God and to the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for such activities which further edify their faith. — With reports from INC News Section
