As the Local Congregation of Gabihan reached its 45th anniversary, the members therein commemorated it through a special gathering in their house of worship on April 7, 2023.

Gabihan is among the 30 local congregations, eight extensions, and one group worship service (GWS) supervised by the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan North, in the Philippines.

Brother Ranier Sabino, district supervising minister, officiated the holy gathering. He preached a biblical lesson reminding the attendees that their zeal in serving the Lord God should increase, not diminish, as they advance in years as Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members.

The Gabihan Local Congregation was established on April 4, 1978. “The country was still under martial law when it was established. We were persecuted, were burdened by hardships, but we did not give up. The Lord God saw us through, He never did abandon us,” Mirriam Reyes, deaconess, recalled.

“Throughout the years of being a Church member, the Almighty Father fulfilled His promised help. I was able to triumph over a lot of tests in life,” said Marianito Villante, head deacon. “I so thank the Church Administration for the constant care I receive through the words of God taught during worship services.”

Having received spiritual inspiration after the special gathering, the brethren were all the more motivated to uphold a life that is pleasing to God. On their behalf, Brother Sherwin Cruz, resident ministerial worker, said, “We will remain united with the whole Church, led by its Administration, in participating in all its endeavors.” — With reports from Jowie Me Cardenas of INC News Section
