KADIWA members from the Local Congregation of Capitol Hill, Alberta in the Ecclesiastical District of Calgary had apparently been “bitten by the gardening bug.”

The online gardening seminar they attended on May 19, 2021 had sparked the young member’s interest in growing houseplants, which has become a popular hobby in cold regions, such as Canada.

The webinar delved on growing warm climate plants, such as avocado, indoors by skillfully replicating its natural growing zone.

The young members learned the step-by-step process of planting an avocado seed not in a typical way of burying the seed in the soil but in a glass of water.

They were then taught how to nurse the plant and given tips like using the appropriate amount of water, proper grooming and pruning, fertilization, and more to keep it healthy.

Some interviewed participants, after successfully planted their seeds, intimated their interest in growing houseplants as a hobby, especially while staying at home for quarantine. ― With reports from INC News Section
